Kenneth Edward Dawson, Sr., 85 of Glen Allen, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on January 12, 2023 at home with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Rexford A and Mary Katherine Dawson, his brother Rexford A Dawson, Jr and son-in-law Gene E Sawyer, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Elizabeth “Virginia” Dawson and their three children Beth Dawson, Ruth Sawyer of Glen Allen and Kenny Dawson and his wife Lesley of Stafford, his four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond West Breakfast Lion Club and Mended Hearts Chapter 28 where he enjoyed visiting heart patients in the hospital.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday January 22 at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Road.
Funeral church service will be held on Tuesday January 24 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church Parham Road Henrico VA. Burial will be 1:00 pm at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Patterson Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
