Kenneth “Kenny” Berwick Gambill passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on January 21, 2012, on his 62nd birthday. The son of Walter and Jean Gambill, Kenny lived in Richmond all his life. He graduated from John Randolph Tucker High School and Virginia Commonwealth University. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps.
A devoted father, son, and brother, Kenny is survived by his mother, Jean; brothers, Ray and Steven; sister, Donna; and son, Lucas, his wife, Tina, and three grandchildren he adored, Hannah, Colton, and Piper.
He leaves behind his lifelong best friend, along with many others in the band of brothers who shared his well-lived journey. His zest for life, kindness, unique perspective, and quick wit touched all those lucky enough to know him. To the many who loved him, the loss is ours, and he will forever live on in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at Woody’s Funeral Home in the West End, 1771 N. Parham Rd, on Thursday, January 26th, from 5:00 -7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Hospital of Richmond or St. Jude’s Children Research.
