Mary Parrish Eddleton

EDDLETON, Mary P., 102, of Richmond, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Kate Parrish. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Preston M. Eddleton; and their daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Ashburn. Mary is survived by her two grandsons, James R. Ashburn and Jonathan M. Ashburn; along with her son-in-law, Clarence Ashburn; step-grandson, Andy Ashburn; sister-in-law, Talley E. Bowles; and many nieces and nephews. Mary loved meeting people and spent her working career in customer service that included over 26 years at Woolco Department Store at Azalea Mall. Perhaps her favorite was operating an ice cream truck business with her husband, Preston, where they could bring joy to countless children (and their parents) with delicious candy apples, frozen push up pops and ice cream of all kinds. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Woody Funeral Home, 1771N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 6, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. A graveside service with a fellowship reception to follow will be at Church of Our Savior, 17102 Mountain Rd., Montpelier, Va. 23192.
