Obituary of Mary Flora Eiler
Mary Flora Eiler, 82, of Richmond, VA, passed from this life on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was born on March 21, 1939, to John Flora, Sr. and Hazel (Steele) Flora of New Albany, IN. Mary was a warm and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She loved to explore creativity in all aspects of life, through ballroom dancing, through fine art, and through storytelling with friends, family and neighbors. She never met a stranger, and for many years owned and operated an art gallery and frame shop called Arts Limited in the West End of Richmond. Here she worked alongside her husband and children to grow a successful family business for over 20 years. She was always such a strong proponent of education and extremely proud that both her children went on to earn college degrees, a feat that she pioneered to accomplish for herself when she earned a certificate in accounting in 1985, almost 30 years after graduating from New Albany High School (New Albany, IN) in 1957. Mary will most be remembered for the way she cherished family, especially her children and grandchildren and for her bubbly personality that made everyone feel welcome the minute they walked in the room. Mary is survived by her three siblings - John Flora, Jr. (Marlene) of New Albany, IN, William Flora (Margie) of Jupiter, FL, and Carl Flora (Sue) of New Albany, IN; her partner of 22 years-John Reap of Richmond, VA; her son Micah Eiler (Judy), her daughter Suzanne Conreaux (Patrick) of Atlanta, GA and her grandchildren, Grayson and Jack of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Flora; her husband, Robert L. Eiler; her sister Janet Roberts and her brother Richard Flora. Out of concern for the current pandemic, there will not be visitation services at this time. You are invited to attend a gravesite service at Westhampton Memorial Park at 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA on Thursday, May 10, at 2pm est.
