Melinda was an emergency room nurse at MCV for her entire career of over 30 years, winning the Governor's Award to the Outstanding Emergency Nurse of Virginia in 1993. She is survived by her loving sister, Shirley Woodward Morrison, and husband James; her aunt, Helen Sue Carlton, and numerous beloved cousins.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, Va. from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. with interment following at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
