Robert Lee Hancock

Robert Lee Hancock, passed away on August 25, 2022, at Southside Regional surrounded with family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on June 7, 1948 and raised in Charleston, West Virginia then he moved to Maryland and then Hopewell, Va where he graduated high school. He was the son of late Clarence Wesley Hancock, Sr. and late Mary Katherine Hancock(Brown). He is survived by his children, Sean Paul Hancock and Mary Care’l Hawkey and children's spouses, Nancy Hancock and Tow Hawkey and was so grateful to be part of his life. He also survived by two grandchildren, Dominik and Lauren Hancock. Robert graduated from Hopewell High School and he served 3 years in Vietnam where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Bronze Service Stars. After his military service, he went ahead and spent 35 years with Bell-Atlantic as a Cable Splicer. There will be a celebration of life at Woody Funeral Home – 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23229 on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 3 to 5 p.m. A small reception will follow in the Hancock Home. Interment will be private.
