

PARHAM, ROBERT STANLEY, 98, passed away on January 6, 2026 and was a resident of Lakewood Retirement Community. Bob was born August 12, 1927 in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Albert Hood Parham, D.O. and Mary Helen Baugh Parham, and his brother William Hood Parham. He is survived by his beloved wife Sue Barnes Parham, his nieces Maragaret Ann Ramsey, Jane Page Tuttle (Steve) and nephew Charles (Chuck) Parham, His stepdaughter Nancy A. Yesbeck (Ed), stepson George T. Amos, grandsons Luke and Adam (Nicole) and his great grandsons (Joseph and Vincent). Bob retired from the Naval Reserve after 20 years and from Henrico County as a Real Estate Appraiser. Bob earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from UNC Chapel Hill in 1950 and was in Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He reentered Naval Services in 1956 and served as a supply officer on the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CVAIO) and later as Navy Liaison Officer at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California. After college, he worked at the National Security Agency. Bob and Sue enjoyed travel to the Outer Banks, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Japan, China and their favorite place was Eves on Cable Beach at Nassau, Bahamas with Sue's cousin, R.E. Barnes.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 at Woody's Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd, Richmond, VA. Visitation from 2:00pm - 3:00pm followed by a short service. A private burial will occur the following week. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The HeartStrings Musical Ministry. Checks payable to Jan Reynolds with the memo stating Heartstrings Musical Ministry sent to his family's address at 15642 Mosaic Creek Blvd, Richmond, VA 23238.
