Robert C. “Bob” West, Sr., 90, of Henrico County died Friday, July 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura M. West; and he is survived by three sons, Kenneth M. West (Mary), Roderick B. West (Marybeth) and Robert C. West, Jr. (Sarah Jane); five grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin, Trenton, Megan and Conrad.
Bob was born in Baltimore, Md., relocated to Massie’s Mill, Va. and then moved to Waynesboro. He was accepted at Emory and Henry College but left to join the Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific during World War II. Bob retired a self employed carpenter.
The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
