PHIFER, Rosalene “Rose”, 81, left us on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, to be in Heaven with the love of her life, Earl J. Phifer Jr., who passed away in 2005 after 66 years of marriage. She is survived by daughters, Joan (David Snead), Debbie (Steve Hall); and son, Bobby (B.J); and we can’t forget our adopted family member and caregiver, Casey Flippen; also, six grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren, one great-great grandson, five brothers, a sister and many nieces and nephews. Rose sewed for years, making custom costumes for skaters, baton and majorettes. Her home was mainly known as “The Phifer Christmas House.” She would sit in the driveway nightly to hand out candy canes to the children and loved the smiles she received in return. If she had it her way, the Christmas lights would have stayed on all year long. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where a service will be held at 12 noon on Friday. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
