

Sallie Lee Colonna Corra, 82, of Richmond, VA, left this life on Friday morning, January 2nd, 2026. While her mark on the new year was small, she left a large legacy and decades of love, kindness and friends. Sallie was a force! Her circle was large with lasting memories for those lucky enough to have lived within it. To walk life with Sallie Corra meant quickening your pace and sharpening your wits. If you were ill Sallie was there to raise your spirits; if you were sad Sallie was there to cheer you up; if you were hungry Sallie was there to feed you. And, oh! could she feed you! A fierce battle is likely to erupt for her secret recipe book.
Born on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to parents Tommy and Lelia Colonna, she is preceded in death by them; husband Henry John Corra; and son Tommy Corra. She is survived by sons Henry John and Andrew Corra, daughter-in-law Janet Corra-Wiley; grandsons Wiley Corra and George Corra; granddaughter Sophie Corra; cousins Linda Vanzant, Debbie Beasley and Fran Drummond; and too many close friends- all treated as family- to list.
Sallie worked as a registered nurse and took her vocation as homemaker seriously. Socializing, spending time on the beach, playing a round of golf or cards, and taking care of her many friends brought Sallie joy. The joy she gave was immeasurable! A visitation will be held Friday, January 9th, 5-7pm; funeral service Saturday, January 10th, 10am, both at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, VA; interment to follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Section 31. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The American Cancer Society. A celebration of Sallie’s life will follow at the residence of Tim and Hunter Gundlach, 1800 Tunbridge Dr, Richmond, VA 23238. All are welcome.
