I'm sorry to hear the news of Steve's passing.  I was honored to know him, and while he was dealt a tough hand, his grace and courage along his journey were inspirational.

Partner, you were a genuine friend who could always be counted on in times of need. In addition, for almost ten years you were a consummate educator who enriched the lives of hundreds of individuals who had the good fortune of being in your classes.  My prayers and thoughts go out to your family, and especially Carlie, during this difficult period.
