Susan Owen Rhodes

Susan Owen Rhodes, 61, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2010. Born in Salem Va., to the late R. Elwood Owen and Margaret Brice Owen. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Michael Wingate Rhodes; stepchildren, Michael, Jason and Heather Rhodes. She is also survived by her brother, Robert E. Owen, Jr., his wife Ann, and their children Rob and Laura; 2 aunts, Nancy Turner, and Jean Mayhew; many wonderful cousins, especially Donna Weed and her husband Tom, Kris Drummond and her husband Jerry, and Karen Mayhew. Susan was a Professional Buyer and Buyer Manager for Vepco and MCV Hospital. She is a longtime, active member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, having served on the church vestry, alter guild, usher guild, and others. Susan had a strong affection for all animals especially pets or any of God’s creatures facing abuse. The family will receive friends today, Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 5 to 8pm, at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, Va. Services will be held at 11am, on Friday, November 19, 2010, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church 1101 Forest Avenue, Richmond, VA 23229. Interment to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
