Woody Funeral Home-Parham
Thomas Stephen Nardo, 96, of Richmond, Va., peacefully passed away on July 13, 2021 with his family by his side. Tom was a kind and devoted Catholic, husband, father and grandfather. He dedicated his life to his family and the church. Tom was an only child born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Stephen J. and Anna R. Nardo. He is preceded to the gates of heaven by his loving wife of 66 years, Harriett Ann Nardo. He is survived by his beloved son, Stephen T. Nardo (Carol) of Midlothian, and six grandchildren, Alexis Rowe (Patrick), Logan, Tanner and Elise Nardo and Alex and Catherine Burton. Tom was a proud World War II Navy veteran, achieving the rank of Quartermaster Second Class while serving in the Pacific theatre. His wife, Ann, was the first love of his life; his family second; and numbers third. He was the first in his family to graduate from college, worked for over 50 years as a financial director, most recently at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and loved a good baseball statistic. His wit, humor and zest for life will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wed., July 21 at Woody Funeral Home – Parham, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thurs., July 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Rd., where he and his wife were some of the original members and attended religiously for over 50 years. Interment to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road, Richmond, VA, 23229.
