Vera Miner Flippen, 91, of Richmond, passed away January 5, 2011. She was the widow of Aubrey Lee Flippen. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara F. Richards; sister, Velma M. Flippen; grandson, Robert James Richards Jr. and wife, Violet; granddaughter, Renee R. Dolan and husband, Patrick; six great-grandchildren, Asheton Richards, Connor Dolan, Ryan Dolan, Kiley Dolan, Jennifer Neal and husband, Joseph, and Rachel Spain; two great-great-granddaughters, Ella and Lilliana. Mrs. Flippen was a retired dental assistant and active member of Westhampton Baptist Church. She loved church work, traveling, and her family. The family will receive friends Friday, January 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, and where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. A reception will follow the interment at Westhampton Baptist Church, 6112 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Va. 23226, and where the family requests memorial contributions be made.
