William Reginald Carmichael Jr.

He was born in Bryan, Texas, January 24, 1940, the son of William Reginald Carmichael, Sr. and Marzee Moore Carmichael. A graduate of the Naval Academy in 1963, a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, and an avid football fan, Bill enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and long walks with his dog.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bill is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Patricia Clingenpeel Carmichael; daughters, Catherine Carmichael Lyon and her husband, Graham Dalton Lyon, Jr. of Durham, North Carolina, Kristin Carmichael Mitchell and her husband, John LaRhue Mitchell of Keswick, VA, step-daughter Carol Clingenpeel Smith and her husband, Scott; and step-son, David Clingenpeel and his wife, Jackie; grandsons William Andrew Lyon, Brock Welden Smith and Reid Allen Smith; granddaughters Charlotte LaRue Mitchell, Madeleine Hastings Mitchell and Taylor Leigh Clingenpeel, and his sister Ruth Carmichael Bellows and her husband, Warren from Houston, TX.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7 at 2pm at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Family will greet friends with a reception after the funeral. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Families of the Wounded Fund.
