William John Gettsy

William John Gettsy, 87, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2015. He was born to the late John and Margaret Gettsy of Pennsylvania on June 30, 1927. Bill was a US Army veteran serving in World War II and Korea retiring as a Major after 22 years of service. Bill followed his military career with 25 years of service at the Virginia State Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control retiring as the Assistant Director for Administration, Division of Stores. He was a devout member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth Ann Gettsy. He is survived by his devoted daughters Cindy Gettsy and Missy Conklin, and son in law Chris Conklin and loving companion of 22 years Lilli Trent. The family is grateful for the acts of kindness shown to them by friends, co-workers, and the caring staff of Henrico Doctors Hospital, Forest. A heartfelt thank you to Monsignor Carr and Jerry of St. Bridget Catholic Church and to the Hospice of Virginia, especially Victoria, Rhonda, and Angela.
