A.C. attended Central High School and served in the United Stated Navy 1948 to 1952. A.C. graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology with a minor in math. A. C. started work at the City of Jackson in the Water Department as a Hydraulic Engineer. A. C. later work at the U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, MS until his retirement. A. C. was member of the Institute of Certification of Engineering Technicians and was licensed with the MS State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. A.C. was also a member of the American Legion Post 0153 of Madison, MS
A.C. was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland, MS for many years. A.C. loved going hunting and fishing, working in the garden and yard. A. C. also enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball.
A. C. is preceded in death by his loving wife, Anita Spivey, parents, A. C. Spivey, Sr. and Virgie Grafton Spivey along with his sisters, Sara Pierce, L K Spivey and Patsy Pierce.
A. C. is survived by son, Andrew Spivey (Scarlett) of Ridgeland, daughters, Melissa Holmes (Jack) of Morton, Melanie Wilkes (Roy) of Ridgeland, grandchildren, Amy Everett (J R), Ben Stone (Shannon), Eric Wilkes (Payton), Elizabeth Wilkes (Ashton) and Ryan Wilkes, great grandchildren, Dakota, Lane and Caitlyn and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday March 6, 2020 from 5-7pm at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday March 7, 2020 at 2pm at Parkway Funeral Home Ridgeland, MS. Burial will follow at Jessamine Cemetery, Ridgeland, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Men’s Club at First United Methodist Church Ridgeland.
