Anton Klingler, born January 20, 1930, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024. In 1956, Anton, along with his lifelong partner and late wife, Katharina, migrated from Augsburg, Germany to the United States where he gained his citizenship within 6 months of his arrival.
Within two years, Anton had built a growing and thriving business with his friend and business partner, Bill Cobb. In 1972, Anton independently founded and was the CEO of a successful electrical business, Klingler Electric Corporation, which expanded into a conglomeration of other powerful industries throughout the southeast and internationally.
Throughout his career, Anton Klingler was a proud member of many organizations, a contributor to many charities, and was a vital part of community services throughout the metro area. Among these are, but not limited to, The Academy of Electrical Contractors, NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association), The 100 Club, the City Planning Board, and the Rotary Club. He was honored to receive the Paul Harris Rotary Award and The Golden Glove Award.
Anton leaves behind many fond memories of dear friends and the many activities they enjoyed together. He was an avid tennis player, golfer, boater, and world traveler.
Anton’s greatest achievement was the life he built with his beloved wife of 62 years, Katharina, and the love for his family. Together they had two children, one son, Anton Klingler (and his life partner, Rebecka Klingler), and a late daughter, Sandra Kay Klingler. Among his greatest pride and joys in life are his grandchildren, Tony Klingler, IV (and his fiancé, Carrie), Courtney Chamblee (and her husband, Kevin), Jacob Klingler, Jessica Frederick, and Jodie Frederick; and his great grandchildren, Peyton, Breckon, Kennedy, Reed, Taylor, Colton, and Dylan; and is survived by many nieces and nephews who reside in Augsburg, Germany. He is preceded in death by six siblings.
One of Anton Klingler’s favorite philosophies to live by was taken from a poem and embroidered on a pillow by his dear wife:
“The seeds of love and wisdom,
You planted on the way,
Have given me the roots I need,
And strengthened me each day.”
Anton Klingler has lived his life and left an incredible legacy to his family and friends who will cherish and miss him each day.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
