April was born September 14, 1976, in Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated from Madison Central High School in 1995, earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University in 1999, and then received her Master's degree in Administration from Mississippi College in 2007. April was an amazing teacher and principal, but her passion and dedication for every child is what made her a true educator. For the past 12 years, April worked for Madison County Schools, most recently as Principal of Camden Elementary.
April leaves behind her loving husband, Trey DeLoach III, and their two children, Heath, age 13, and Perry, age 9, of Madison; father, Jesse Heath of Ridgeland; sisters, Leah Addison (Eddy), Maggie Heath, and Rebecca Sentell (Leland), nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. April was preceded in death by her mother, Alice May Heath and her grandmother, Fay Milstein May.
April attended First Baptist Church of Madison with her family and was active within all functions of the church. She was also actively involved in Junior Auxiliary, and enjoyed helping others in her community.
April enjoyed nothing more than being with her family and friends. Watching Heath play baseball, Perry cheer, and going to MSU football games, were among some of April's favorite activities. One of April's greatest gifts to others was her use of words in her writing. The www.teamaprildeloach.org page was a wonderful way for April to express her feelings while touching and encouraging many lives. In honor of April, her family encourages you to become a blood/platelet donor and to register with "Be The Match" bone marrow registry.
