Carolyn was born on July 16, 1936 to Mittie and Grover Keith of Decatur, MS.
She attended East Central Jr. College and graduated from MUW. She enjoyed a successful career as Personnel Specialist with the Federal Soil Conservation Service in Jackson for 36 years.
Carolyn and George were members of Briarwood Baptist Church for 45 years and currently she was a member of First Baptist Church of Madison. Carolyn loved her friends, her lunch bunch group, traveling and reading. She also really enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George Pope; her son, Nelson Pope (Dawn) of Madison; grandchildren, Sarah Pope Cook (Caleb) of Madison, Neil Pope (Lara Kate) of Nashville, TN, and Jamey Pope of Madison; great grandchildren, Callie, Abigail, and Lillie Cook and Josephine Pope; and her first cousin, Janis Roberts of Madison.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mittie and Grover Keith.
Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3 at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
