Chris Marlon Huff passed away on February 18, 2026, at his home in Jackson, Mississippi, at the age of 69. He was born in Centerville, Mississippi, on March 6, 1956, to Dixie Williams Carr and Bobby Jewel Huff.
Chris M. Huff — known affectionately as “Papa Chris,” “Uncle Chris,” and the “King of Hearts” — attended Mississippi College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in History with a minor in Sociology. He later attended The University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Chris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, used his profound faith in the Lord and his many gifts of patience, kindness, and, most of all, love to help thousands of people through decades of therapy and counseling. In 2005, Chris trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and helped pioneer its use in the region. He was passionate about using IFS to help people better understand themselves and tend to their hearts.
Chris dearly loved his family and found great joy in watching them become their authentic selves. His presence on this earth will be greatly missed. May his soul be treasured in Heaven as it was on earth.
