
Claudine Mann, beloved wife, mother, and aunt, died of natural causes at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson on April 13, 2016. She was surrounded by her family.
Born in Troy, Alabama, on April 16, 1921, Claudine was one of four children of Earnest and Annie Boutwell Wilson, all of whom predeceased her.
She married Fred Christopher Mann in 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama, and together they had one child, Linda Dianne. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in May, 2015.
Claudine enjoyed a long career in sales in Jackson, first with Arnold’s, Inc., and later with Randall Craft Realty as a successful agent. She was a talented and creative seamstress for over fifty years and was active in her church, Pine Lake, near her home in Brandon. She loved reading, solving challenging crossword puzzles, and listening to many styles of music.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; her daughter, Linda, and Linda’s husband Jack McDaniel; and nieces, nephews, and their children for whom she and Fred delighted in being surrogate grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at Pine Lake Church on Lakeland Drive, Monday, April 18, at noon. Burial at Parkway Memorial Cemetery on Highland Colony Parkway follows. Visitation will be at Pine Lake Church at 11:00 a.m. on April 18. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
