Dorothy Fazzino Cummings Neilson

Dorothy Fazzino Cummings Neilson died unexpectedly Friday, Nov 22, 2013 in her home. She was born in Bryan, TX and has five surviving siblings: Rosie Sebek, Bennie Belknap, Johnny Fazzino, Mary Frances Hardin and Pete Anthony Fazzino. Dorothy is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bob Whitten; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jennifer Cummings; grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler and Travis Cummings and great grandchildren, Naomi, Helen and Silas Cummings.  

Passionate about God, “Dott” served Jesus of Nazareth in numerous ways, impacting many lives through personal and organized settings. Over the years, she served her community and neighbors as president of the St. Dominic Auxiliary, St. Richard's Church Parish Council, tennis committee chairman – Jackson Country Club and many others.

 After co-founding a local steel company and working there vigorously for 23 years (including CEO of the company), Dorothy was semi-retired and office manager at Sitters, LLC.

 A memorial/tribute service will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, 2:00pm at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, MS. Visitation is at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

 Dorothy will be laid to rest in Bryan, TX alongside her mother and father, Nita and Pete Fazzino, and sister, Katherine Marino.
