Elsie Burnette Martin

Elsie Burnette Martin went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 19th from 10-12 at Parkway Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 12 at Parkway. Reverend Ron Harrison will perform the services with internment at Clinton City Cemetery.

Burnette was born in Marianna, Florida on January 31, 1932 and lived in Clinton and Ridgeland Mississippi. She was a member of Faithview Baptist Church in Raymond.

Burnette retired from IBM after 24 years of service then worked as an executive secretary in Neurosurgery/Pediatric Radiology and a transcriptionist for Adult Radiology at UMC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon and Grace Smith, brothers, Donald and Burnell Smith, nephews, Dana and Donnie Smith and nieces, Ginger Langford and Teresa Skipper.

Survivors include sons, David (Diane) Montgomery, AL., John Smith, Ridgeland, MS., Daughter, Debbie (Mike) Hardy, Byram, MS, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brothers, Gene (Helen) Smith Marianna, FL., Milo (Lila) Smith, Blountstown, FL., Wayne (Mitzi) Smith, Gainesville, FL., sister-in-law, Patsy (Donald) Smith, Alford, FL., and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
