
Frances Ann Hendrix Magee was taken home by her Lord Jesus Christ on January 29, 2022. She was born in Lumberton, MS on July 10, 1927 to Mamie Estelle McKay Hendrix and Clarence O. Hendrix. Her mother passed away 4 months later, and she was raised by her aunt, Mrs. Mildred Waltman. She graduated from Lumberton High and then attended Bowling Green College Business School. She came to Jackson after graduation and worked for Sullivan and Sons. She met her future husband A. B. Magee and they married on October 9, 1949.
Frances is survived by her four children, Ben Magee (Nancy), Susan May (Rusty), Karen Jones (Rocky), and Jane Burrows (Allen). She was a loving grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud.
She is preceded in death by her husband, A. B. Magee; granddaughter, Allison Dennis Lancaster; and her beloved cat, Buddy.
The family would like to thank her friend and caregiver Alice Lewis and longtime friend Betty Thompson for their loving care over the last several years. A special thanks to Stay Home Hospice staff, especially Nita and Debbie, for their gift of comfort.
There will be a family only visitation and service to honor her life.
