Harvey Kenneth Youngblood

Harvey Kenneth Youngblood, 93, died on Sunday August 10,2014. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday August 13, 2014 from the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be from1:30pm till service time. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Ken was born in Brazos, Texas on April 23, 1921. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Jr. College and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University and was a member of the football teams at both schools.

He was a retired officer of MS. Valley Gas Co. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the MS. Seniors Golf Association. He was a former resident of Natchez where he was active at First Presbyterian Church and past President of both the Rotary Club and The Adams County Chamber of Commerce.

Ken was preceded in death by father and mother and two sisters.

Ken is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Martin Youngblood, son, Kenneth Y. and wife Sandy of Newport, AR., daughter Margie Eldridge and husband Pete of McKinney, TX., daughter, Jo Christian of Jackson, MS., and daughter Cathy Ellis and husband Phil of Greenwood, MS. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and one sister Georgene Taylor of Ft. worth, TX.
