

James Robert Filbeck was born on October 4, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Virginia and Clen Filbeck. He spent his early years in Altus, OK where he developed a love for hanging out with his friends and running.
He attended Altus High School/ University of Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he studied Business and Sales. He participated in Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. After he graduated, he married Lynda Leigh Good on June 14th, 1970. They moved to Tarrytown, NY, where he began his working career with Gant Shirtmakers.
James Robert Filbeck dedicated his professional life to selling Gant Shirts. He worked as Senior salesman at Gant where he was known for work ethic, driving millions of miles, he had a wonderful time selling and meeting nice people. Some are still his friends today. His biggest accomplishment as a salesman was receiving Salesman of the year.
Beyond his career, James Robert Filbeck loved kids with a passion because he was always a kid at heart. He was most proud of his two daughters Heather and Suzanna. He enjoyed attending his daughters swim meets, cross county meets, and track meets. His two grandchildren Kate and Nicholas were his entire world. He found great joy in running, biking and swimming, competing in numerous marathons and triathlons all over the U.S. If he wasn’t competing, he was cheering on his friends. He especially loved traveling to the mountains and beach with his family and friends. Jimmer had a personality and sense of humor like no other. He always had the entire room in laughter.
Jimmer’s first marriage to Lynda lasted 31 years, when he stumbled into an old flame, and got remarried. It didn’t last long. Moral to the story, stay with the first wife. “Jimmer Filbeck”
Family was at the center of his life. He is survived by ex spouse Lynda Filbeck Campbell of Jackson, MS, Daughters Heather Leigh Filbeck of Dallas, Tx, Suzanna Filbeck Rula (Stephen) of Jackson, MS grandchildren Kate and Nicholas Rula of Jackson, MS, siblings Jane Filbeck Hill and Terri Filbeck George of Ft. Worth, TX.
He was preceded in death by Virginia and Clen Filbeck
Jimmer will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for his love for his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held May 18th at 4pm at the home of Stephen and Suzanna Rula at 147 Bridgewater Crossing, Ridgeland, MS 39157 for Family and close Friends along with a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Manhattan Nursing Home for their support and compassion during this time.
