

Jane Sills Raffield, age 84, of Madison, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2026. She was born on October 14, 1941, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Alma Pauline Little Sills and Thomas Denver “T.D.” Sills, Sr.
Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on faith and family. She married the love of her life, Robert Larry Raffield, and together they built a home filled with love, devotion, and Christian values. They were blessed with two children, Melissa Raffield Hudgens and Robert Michael Raffield.
Jane retired from the Mississippi State Department of Health after many years of faithful and dedicated service. She was a longtime and devoted member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, where she had been an active member since the early 1960s. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life.
Jane was one of the biggest Ole Miss fans in the universe. She cherished family gatherings, especially those spent watching the Rebels and cheering them on to victory.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Raffield Hudgens; her parents, Alma and T.D. Sills, Sr.; and her brothers, Milford Sills, Billy Joe Sills, Jerry Sills, T.D. Sills Jr., Glenn Sills and her brother-in-law Jim Fortenberry.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Larry Raffield; her son, Robert Michael Raffield (Melanie); her grandchildren, Emily Raffield Burton (Will), Robert Langston Raffield, Christopher Chisholm (Samantha), and Josh Hudgens; her great-grandchildren, Brynlea, Ryce, Briggs, and Woods; her sisters, Peggy Sills Araiza (Bill) and Janelle Sills Fortenberry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
