He was born in Drew, Mississippi on June 7, 1943. He was a graduate of Drew High School where he was the captain of the football team. He married his high school sweetheart Frieda Timmes on August 16, 1964. He worked for 27 years at Lyondel Basell in Morris, Illinois, before his retirement in 1998 and subsequently moved to Madison, Mississippi. Jimmy was always an active member of the Church of the Nazarene where he was always finding a project to work on. Words often used to describe him are “gentle, sweet, kind, giving and loving.” He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved fishing, hunting and his best buddy Pepper, his dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Suzie Williams, and two brothers, Emerald and Rodney Williams.
He is survived by his lifelong sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Frieda; Children, Teresa Clay (Stephen), Scott Williams (Dawn), Gayle Oaks (Eric), Marieke Barbosa (Andre), 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, sisters Dovie May and Susie Vasseur (Thomas) and numerous others who proudly claim him as their own grandadda.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Home.
