Born December 2, 1935 in Decatur, MS he was a graduate of East Central Junior College and Mississippi State University where he majored in Civil Engineering. He was a partner in Engineering Associates engineering firm and owner of Johnson and Associates engineering firm. He was the consulting engineer for Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler of Madison, MS and also for Copiah County Mississippi.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Ollie, his daughter, Selena Sutterfield (Russell), his sister, Elsie Hollingsworth (John) of Ila, GA, brothers Charlie Johnson and Danny Johnson of Jackson, MS, grandchildren Andrew Harr, Jacob and Emma Sutterfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 4, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS. Burial will be held on premises following the service. Relatives and friends will be received at Wright & Ferguson from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 3 and also from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 4.
