

Visitation will be on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Wright & Ferguson in Ridgeland at 9:30am, followed by service at 11:00am.
John was born and raised in Jackson, MS. He attended Casey Elementary, Woodland Hills Baptist Academy and The Education Center. He loved rock music, horseback riding, dirt bike riding, fast cars and good times and in later years, weight lifting and traveling. His happiest memories were his times spent at Panama City Beach and, in accordance with his wishes, his earthly remains will be properly interred there.
John was an accomplished electrician and talented carpenter. He worked in both commercial and residential construction for over twenty five years. He held a Master Electrician’s License in the State of Arkansas. He held degrees in Electronics Engineering and certifications in all phases of home building. He was continuing his education and at the time of his death was a student at Hinds Community College and was employed by Lowe’s. He was the owner and founder of Best Electric of Jackson. He was the caretaker of his mother for over a year and continued overseeing her care after she was admitted to hospice. He was a devoted fan of football and particularly of University of Alabama and Ole Miss. He fully planned to celebrate Denver‘s Super Bowl Win this year.
John was preceded in death by his father, John H. Stoddard, Sr. He is survived by his son, John Hunter Stoddard and daughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Stoddard of Jackson, MS. He is also survived by his daughter, Jenny Coleman (Sullivan) and grandchildren, Caleb and Carly, all of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, mother, Mildred Cloyd of Brandon, MS. John leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved partner of many years, Kim Johnson of Batesville, AR. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will always love and remember him fondly.
