

Visitation will be held Friday, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, Mississippi with burial to follow in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
She was born and raised, in Chunky, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Hickory High School and East Central Community College. She attended Mississippi College where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Education. Mrs. Higdon taught school for twenty years for Jackson Public Schools. She was a member of St. Matthews Methodist Church in Madison, Mississippi.
Her interests included family, gardening, sewing and reading. She devoted much of her life to teaching and helping others. She was loved and adored by everyone she met and she left a lasting inspiration with everyone. She will forever be missed by many.
Mrs. Higdon is survived by her husband, Robert Paul (Bob) Higdon of Madison, sisters, Ruby McGee and Lois McGee both of Meridian; sons Phillip M. Baker of Orlando, Florida and Gordon P. Baker and his wife Karem of Plano, Texas; Mike Higdon and his wife Nina, of Tampa, Florida, and daughter, Sondra Higdon Hardin and her husband Steve of Madison; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred McGee and Jack McGee and her son Tony A. Baker.
