Linda was born in Indianola, Mississippi on August 15, 1950 to Vivian Orene and Clyde Sumrall. She attended Callaway High School.
Linda married Talmage David Howton, Sr. and together they had two sons, baby boy Howton and Talmage David Howton, Jr. She worked as an accounting clerk and audit tech. It was after her retirement that she found her true calling, as a nanny. Her friends and family considered her the Mississippi Mary Poppins. Outside of church and family, her biggest passions were the children she kept and decorating for the holidays. She was a longtime member of Trace Ridge Baptist Church.
Linda is survived by her son, David Talmage Howton, Jr. and was preceded in death by her son, baby boy Howton in 1978 and her husband, David Talmage Howton, Sr. in 2003.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Trace Ridge Baptist Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
