

Louise Rose Westerfield passed away on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at the age of 97. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday November 2, 2016 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland with a Wake Service at 7:00pm. A Mass will be said 10:00am Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gluckstadt with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Westerfield was born in Lanesville, IN and was part of the Weisenberger family who helped establish the Gluckstadt community. She married Paul Westerfield and they raised five sons in and around the Jackson area. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt, The Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and The Opti-Mrs. Club of Jackson. She was an excellent quilter and seamstress winning many awards for her creations.
Survivors include: sons, Paul A. Westerfield, Jr. of Seattle, WA, Melvin L. Westerfield of Benton, LA, P. Stephen Westerfield of Lakewood, CA, Michael C. Westerfield of Friendsville, TN, and William J. Westerfield of Madison, MS; sister, Edith Harkins of Carthage, MS, sister-in-law, Eileen Weisenberger of Clinton, MS; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her niece, Florence Henley for the love, and dedication as her conservatrix, and concern she gave to their mother. Also to St. Catherine’s Village and Gentiva Hospice for their care and devotion during these last months.
