Mary Janice Purcell

Born April 24, 1954 to Sidney & Lenace Purcell (deceased). Survived by her brothers Dennis (wife Nikki) & Larry (wife Patti) Purcell, nieces Katie & Hallie Purcell, Godson Thomas Aaron Patrick Shea, her adoptive spiritual sister, Tana June Shea and her canine companion for the last 13 years, Bailey.

Mary’s life was dedicated to the Lord, her family, the people she loved and her work. She thrived in each of these areas!!

She enjoyed exploring, whether it was a trip around the block or around the world – she was all in! She had travelled to France, England, Spain & Ireland as well as many of the states in the United States.

She attended Purdue University and worked hard for a degree when all the odds were against her. She finalized her degree in Political Science, but went on to enter banking in her last year of college. She worked in banking for the next 30 plus years and recently held a position here in Mississippi as Director of Compliance for American Check Cashing Inc.

Mary’s highest achievement was the impact she had on the lives of others. She saw the best in people even when they thought they weren’t worth it and invested in them, thus creating a living legacy that will last for decades to come. She saw promise in many
