Peggy was born in Truman, Arkansas to William Howard and Sarah Louise Pennel Galligher. She moved various places but spent many of her childhood years in Tupelo, MS. She moved to Jackson, MS her senior year, where she graduated from Central High School. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and The University of Tennessee. She was an Episcopalian all of her life and she was an active member of St. Columb's Episcopal Church.
Peggy married the love of her life, Robert Alexander “Bob” Borromeo in 1955. They lived several places until settling in Jackson. She worked as a “hand model” at Kennington Department Store and at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was a travel agent for over 40 years, working for several agencies and with many amazing people. Peggy loved to travel and spent many years guiding tours all over the world, including North America, South America, Africa, Australia, Europe, and Asia. She was able to take her friends, her children, and her grandchildren to many of these places throughout the years. Traveling was her most favorite pastime. She also loved boating, cooking, reading, and going to the MS Gulf Coast. Peggy loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren to whom she was known as Nonie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Borromeo; her parents, Howard and Louise Galligher; her sister, Billie Galligher Kirkley and her sister-in-law Lillian Borromeo Alexander. She is survived by her children: Carol Jackson Meeks (Tony), Anna Borromeo Stewart (Bill), Vic Borromeo (Frances), Alex Borromeo (Jennifer). Her sister: Lucy Galligher Cotten. Her Grandchildren: Sean Calvary, Chandler Stewart Beasley (Charlie), Blaire Stewart, Colby Borromeo. Her Great-grandchildren: Ryan Calvary, Landon Beasley, Izabella Beasley, and Ezra Beasley. Her Nieces and Nephews: Harvey Cotten (Pam), Sarah Sartain, Marion Lazar (John), David Kirkley (Debbie), Billy Howard Kirkley (Dory), Martha Kirkley Murrell (Mike) and Vera Alexander Dufour (Bill). Her Great Nieces and Nephews: John Cotten, Andrew Cotten, Luke Sartain, Meaghan Murrelll, Braden Murrell, Matthew Kirkley, Laura Kirkley. Kristen Defour Hill, Kyle Dufour, and Kevin Dufour.
Peggy will be missed by so many friends, who were like family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Parkway Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made in Peggy's name to St. Columb's Episcopal Church of Ridgeland, MS.
