Ben was born on November 8, 1943 in Fayetteville, N.C. to Eleanor Arnold and Bernice Willis Hailey.
He graduated from East Carolina University, Greensville, N.C. He was the ultimate salesman in china and crystal for Royal Doulton and Martin’s Herend Imports. He enjoyed working with his accounts. He retired at the age of 78 years.
Ben enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, and playing tennis and golf, where he made life-long friends.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his son, Michael (Melanie); his granddaughter, Mason Grace; and his step-granddaughters, Megan and Mandy Duckworth.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bernice; his sister, Patsy; his daughter, Melissa; and his son, Ross.
