

Born November 12, 1930 in Hattiesburg, he was the youngest of nine children born to Noel Garraway Harvison, Jr. and Edna Dora King Harvison.
He graduated from Forrest County Agricultural High School in 1949, and attended Perkinston Junior College for one year before joining the US Army in 1950. He served in the 31st infantry Division, 106th Medical Battalion and rose to the rank of E5. After his Honorable Discharge in 1952, he continued his college education at the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Chemistry and Biology.
He was married December 3, 1954 to the former Billie Charlotte Herrington, of Columbia. He was the owner and president of A-BET-CO Moving and Storage in Ridgeland and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He was also involved in community sports over the years, participating in various capacities including officiating and coaching. For many years, he coached Youth baseball for different ages in Hattiesburg. He served as deacon at Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton, where he also taught Sunday school and was active in the ministry programs at the church.
Mr. Harvison is survived by his wife, Charlotte Harvison of Madison, and their three children, a son, Robert Alex Harvison of Madison, a daughter Billie Faith Harvison Carney and her husband Keith of Decatur, Alabama, and a daughter, Regina Harvison Bass and her husband Leon of Heath, Texas. Mr. Harvison is also survived by four grandchildren, Mayda Clara Harvison of Weslaco, Texas; Sarah Kristen Carney of Decatur, Alabama; and Korman (Kory) Alex Bass and Ryan Herrington Bass of Heath, Texas; as well as one great-grandson, Santos Izaguirre IV of Weslaco, Texas. Mr. Harvison is also survived by a brother, Noel Garraway (NG) Harvison Jr. of Hattiesburg and a sister, Fannie (Polly) Harvison Clark of Seattle, Washington as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Missions Program at Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton, MS.
