Ruth Carolyn Buffington

Ruth Carolyn Buffington, age 93, of Pearl, Mississippi passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025. Ruth was born in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her musical

talent, quick wit, and warm spirit.

Ruth was born on December 21, 1931 in Jackson to Walter and Leah Baker Jones. A lifelong member of the church, Ruth shared her gift of music by playing the piano and organ for many years, touching countless lives with her melodies. Her sense of humor brought joy to everyone who knew her, and she had a way of making even the simplest moments memorable.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Donna Buffington Griffin, of Pearl, and granddaughter, Lexie (Nick) Roach of Gallipolis, Ohio. Though she is no longer with us, her music and laughter will live on in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 60 years, A.D. Buffington.

The family would like to thank Antionetta Taylor, Ada Chambers, Vera Andrews, Erin Hill, Shirley Travis for their excellent care, love and devotion shown along with several others over the years, and special thanks to Jessica Halbert with St. Joseph Hospice.

A graveside service for Ruth will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157.
