Ruth Savage Byars,87, died Friday at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl, MS. Funeral Services will be held Monday April 18, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Madison, MS. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00noon till service time. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. Ridgeland, MS. Mrs. Byars was born September 26, 1923 in Centerville, MS and grew up in Okolona, MS. She attended Belhaven College. Ruth met her husband, Roy D. Byars, after World War II in Schlator, MS they then moved to Jackson,MS. Ruth worked for Hinds General Hospital and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
Ruth had many friends. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and be a dossier at the Governor's Mansion.
Survivors are a son Roy D. Byars III (Laura Ann) of Belzoni, MS. and a daughter Georgia B. Hall (Neil)) of Sandhill, MS. Her grandchildren are Katie Schove, William Hall, Abra Rowland, and Charles Byars. Also she leaves five great- grandchildren. A sister Joan Whetstone from Woodville, MS. Several Nieces and Nephews.
