Shelli Joy Robinson Miller

Shelli Joy Miller, 65, passed on to be with her late husband, John Miller; her sister, Jan Harris; and her parents, Bill and Aggie Robinson, on Monday, March 8, 2021 in Belleville, Illinois. Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will take place at Damascus Cemetery near Damascus Baptist Church, 3964 Hwy 22, Flora, MS 39071 on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. Born on January 31, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee to William “Bill” Robinson and Agnes “Aggie” Kimbrell Robinson, Joy was a force of nature. She worked for the Department of Defense, mostly with the United States Navy for 40 years, retiring in December of 2017. She raised two amazing sons, Mike and Nick, to whom she taught many things, but the greatest lesson she passed down was to love and depend on each other. Family is everything; worry about what you can control today, and BE STILL, and let God handle the rest.

She was a true southern woman to the core. She loved fishing, shooting, watching her awesome family race on dirt tracks, playing Rook until sunrise, cooking and everything in between.

Everyone who knew her will tell you that she was a no-nonsense kind of woman. She was also the person you could call at 3 am to get the best advice on any situation.

She is remembered by her two sons, Nicholas John Miller and Michael Robinson Miller (wife Nicole Nikolauzyk Miller); her sister, Agnes Kay Robinson, her son Brandon Proffer (wife Martha Proffer); her brother-in-law, Darwin Davy Harris, his 2 sons Steve Harris (wife Jill Harris), Brian Harris (wife Cindy Harris), and their 4 Children Lauren, Jacob, Sarah, and Joshua.

Joy is greatly loved and will be missed every day, but we know she will remain in our minds and hearts forever.
