Buck was born Dec. 20, 1942, in Jackson, MS. He graduated from Pearl High School in 1960 and then Jackson School of Law (Mississippi College), during which time he was roomates with Ed Rainer, a life-long friend and attorney for the family. He then achieved a Doctorate’s Degree in Education from MC.
In the 1970s, while in the Air Force, Buck became the Armed Forces Boxing Champion and was able to meet the then President Ford.
He found and owned Wee Care Child Care Center, and devoted much of his life to educating and nurturing children, especially his own. Always an avid jokester, he was a loving and giving father, who often went out of his way to help others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Russum and Mildred Russum; and his older sister, Billie Jean Hunter.
Survivors include his children, Josh (Rhonda) Russum and Shayna (Jonathon) Holmes; 9 grandchildren, 2 sisters, 3 nieces, and 2 nephews.
