Gregory Wayne Bowman

Gregory Wayne Bowman, 49, of 1151 East Church Street, Martinsville died Thursday January 16, 2014. He was born in Martinsville on June 15, 1965 to the late Sam H. Bowman and Marie McMillian Bowman. He was a graduate of Fieldale-Collinsville High School and had worked for Kroger. He was an avid Star Trek fan and was known by family and friends for his exceptional technical and computer skills.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one half-brother, Sam A. Bowman and maternal grandparents, Benton and Erie Lacy McMillian and paternal grandparents, William D and Susie Coleman Bowman.

Survivors are three half-sisters, Amy Dodson of Martinsville and Gina Buffkin of Alabama and Wilma Fleming of Mt Airy, NC and one half-brother, R. G. Bowman of Mt. Airy, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 20, 2014 in the Community Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Brad Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery of Martinsville.

Community Funeral Service of Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.
