Kathy Collier Martin

Kathy Collier Martin, 56, of Martinsville, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. She was born in Martinsville on July 2, 1958, to the late Sherman Ambrose Collier and Barbara Hardy Collier. Before Kathy became disabled she loved working and painting ceramics for her family and friends.

Surviving are Kathy’s longtime companion of more than twenty years, Bill VanScooter of the home

one son, Jackson Curtis “J.C.” Martin III and his girlfriend, Candice Wisor of Clearfield, PA, two sisters, Robin Gibson and husband, Robert of Martinsville and Trish Rhodes and husband, Lloyd of Ashburn, VA. and two special friend/sister, Phyllis Kendrick of Axton and Donna Wingfield of Figsboro, one brother, David Collier and wife Pam of Ridgeway, her canine companion Hershey, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to a Celebration of Life Service which will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday May 18, 2015, in the Community Funeral Service Chapel with Director Kelly G. Ratcliff officiating. Interment will be private.
