
was born in Patrick County to the late Otis Lawless, Sr., and Gertie Shelton Lawless. He served in the United States Army
and after twenty years as a mechanic with Ford Motor Company; he, retired as Co-owner of Hull Thomas Tractor Company in
Stuart where he had twenty eight years of service.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary L Cassady and Ruth L. Cassady.
Surviving are his wife of (26) years, Earleen Lankford Lawless of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Bill
Cottrell of Patrick Springs and Brenda and Tony Boothe of Stuart, one step daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Gilbert Allen
of Martinsville, one step-son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Linda Spencer of Martinsville, three sisters and brothers-in-law,
Margaret and Herbert Howerton of Axton, Betty Sue and Charlie Handy of Stuart and Shelby and Melvin Fain of Stuart, one
brother and sister-in-law, Sammy Lawless and wife, Willie of Stuart, (6) Grandchildren (14) Step-Grandchildren (1) Great
Grandchild (18) Step-Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 1:p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Kearfott Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Thurman
officiating. Interment will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to
services in the church beginning at 12noon.
