Pansy Mitchell Olson

Pansy Mitchell Olson, 94, of Collinsville, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab. She was born in Pittsylvania County on April 11, 1921 to the late Henry Taylor Mitchell and Bessie Barbour Mitchell. She had worked with Veterans Affairs as a Claims Adjuster and later retired after more than twenty five years as a secretary with Gamble-Robinson Distributions. She was a member of the American Legion. Pansy was a member of First Presbyterian of Martinsville and attended Bible Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow C. Olson, one sister, Minnie Ashworth and one brother, Taylor Mitchell.

Surviving are one sister Lorene Mitchell Franklin of Fork Mountain and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to a Celebration of Life Service which will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Community Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Raymond Morefield officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park
