Obituary of Adolfo "Bill" L. Nuñez
IN THE CARE OF

Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary

Adolfo (Bill) L. Nuñez was retired and living in Los Angeles California.

He died after a brief illness, on June 6, 2020 at the age of 89.

Bill is survived by his children, Denise M. Nuñez, Dan Nuñez, Barbra Marzan, his stepchildren, Robert Morales, Rudy Morales, Alfred Morales, Joseph Morales, Richard Morales, Mary Gonzales, Cassandra Delgado Lemus, Nora Alfonso Gonzalez, Rene Rascon-Molina, 36 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, his brother Alfred L. Nuñez, his sisters, Elia Gomez and Elida Nuñez. He is preceded in death by his Father, Facundo S. Nuñez, his Mother, Carolina L. Nuñez, his sister, Eleanor Bryant, his brother, Abel L. Nuñez and son, Adolfo (Sudsy) D. Nuñez.

Bill was born on February 21, 1931, in Loving, New Mexico to Facundo S. Nuñez and Carolina L. Nuñez. He owned an independent air freight business in Los Angeles, California, where he lived most of his life.

He served in the Army, Airborne Division, Co E 505th Air from November 22, 1949 – February 3, 1953. He was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He received his Parachute/Glider Badge on May 26th, 1950.

Bill was a devoted father, avid gardener and wonderful cook. Every year he would harvest the most delicious tomatoes, several varieties of summer squash and many different herbs. Some of his specialty dishes were calabasitas, menudo, and he could grill a rack of ribs as good as any rib joint in Texas. He loved reading about history and watching football. But his biggest passion were his grandchildren. He was known as the baby whisper because there was not a crying baby he could not calm. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary and he will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, services will be private. In Lieu of flowers, we are asking that you instead consider making a donation to Operation Gratitude or the Parkinson's Foundation, in honor of our father.
