Barbara was an “Army Brat” and spent the war years living on army bases as well as 2 years in Yokohama, Japan before moving to Riverside.
Barbara married John W. Carricaburu in June 1957, together they had two children a son John E. Carricaburu (wife Pam) and a daughter Stephanie MacDonald (husband Darren) and 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was active as room mother, PTA, Riverside Fireman’s Wives Auxiliary and 4-H leader. She received Mayor Ab Brown’s award for Outstanding Volunteerism.
In early years she helped bake and serve military wounded and continued to bake for family, friends, fire department, and her doctors. She loved baking and giving to others. She also owned Tanglewood Gift & Silk shop where she used her floral designing skills she learned while in Japan as a child.
Her first passion and love was for faith, family, and friends.
She leaves behind; husband John; son John (Pam); daughter Stephanie (Darren). Grandchildren; Brittany, Casey (Stephanie), Heidi (Robert), Cody (Taylor) and 5 precious great grandchildren and sister Andrea Placker and nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s wishes for the entire world are Peace, Love, Happiness and God’s Love.
Services will be March 21, 2019 at 12:00pm at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, Riverside, CA
In memory of Barbara donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Crown of Life Lutheran Church.
