My love and prayers go out to Celeste's friends and family. I cheered at PCM for a while and did not know her personally but I loved watching her team practice. She is a beautiful star and now she is flying high in heaven!

We will continue to love Celeste no matter how far away and she will be forever in our hearts.  Malia's favorite memory is when GiGi, Celeste, Malia and Bryn were at Bryn's house and Celeste was running around the house calling Gigi Giselle-butt-face.  She still laughs about that day now.

When I think of Celeste, I see that bright vivacious,infectious smile.   She brightened up the room when she walked in.  I remember her singing and dancing along with the music anytime it was on.   I feel privileged to have known her and the Alvarez family.    She was so strong and such a fighter.   Every day now I wake up and hope to live each day with the same energy and strength that she did.  To have thd courage to face the day and deal with anything that comes along. Celeste Alvarez.  How would we describe our "relationship" with her from afar?  We were not friends until just a couple of months ago, just admirers I guess.  We could never take our eyes off of her, we always watched with admiration and awe.  That fierce little flyer with the beautiful smile.  That shining star on the mat.  That was Celeste to us.  That is what she will always be to us.  We have more fight in us because of her.  Star, it has been a blessing to have small encounters with your family these last couple of months.  Your baby is now a sweet angel, one that our family will never forget.  Her candle is in the rooms of my children and we will keep it lit.  The stars in the sky will shine a little bit brighter because of her.  The sun will shine with more beauty than ever before because of her.  Sending our love, support, prayers and hugs. We didn't get to meet dear Celeste, but my son, James knows her brother, Mario. She was certainly an inspiration to my family - what a fighter, and kept her beautiful smile through it all.  Praying for continued healing to your family.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Celeste, through my fiance Robert, she was family. My daughter is also an All Star cheerleader and I was able to identify with her beautiful spirit right away. Celeste had the most amazing smile, the kind of smile that lights you up from the inside out. When Robert called to tell me that she had passed I was sitting on the bleachers at Spirit of Texas watching my daughter practice. The tears welled up from the bottom of my heart. A piece of her amazing soul lives on in every cheerleader, as her fire and love for the sport is both contagious and carried on in the passion of everyone on the floor. I know she is flying with the Angels now and looking down upon all of us with that infectious smile, knowing we carry her memory and legacy everywhere we go.

There are no words for a time like this. Even the term "grieving" is an understatement. But what I can say, without a doubt, is how Celestes life brought a community together. When life is at its craziest, busiest, most taxing on each family individually...YOUR daughter stopped time and reminded each of us, parents and children, how incredibly sacred each moment truly is. Celeste reminded us to cherish each other, to support each other, to love each and in her own words...to not let the color wash away. She leaves behind quite a legacy for such a young soul and as a momma myself, I am do incredibly proud of her for doing so. May God be with you today & always. RIP SWEET BABY

I didn't have the honor to meet Celeste but from the moment I saw her on Facebook I fell in love with her.  I have been praying and will continue to pray everyday for your family.  The pain that you have to endure may feel unbearable at times but call out to God and he will carry you and give you the strength you need to continue on your journey here on earth.

To Mario, Star, Jake, Mario, Gigi, & Tony, my heart goes out to each of you. You guys raised a beautiful intelligent sweet sassy amazing little girl and I don't think anyone could have raised her better. I personally never met Celeste or her family but I have many friends that are close with them. Both her and I KNEW you would HIT with Jacob beneath you. (We cheered for you!!!) I hug my daughter a little tighter recently. Celeste we didn't know you well but we sure feel like we knew you. The moment we saw you in the gym we couldn't stop thinking about what a star you were. My daughters were in awe of you and talked about how they wanted to be just like you. Waileia was so excited that you borrowed her uniform for showcase. She was so proud that "Celeste" was wearing her uniform. From that day forward we couldn't keep our eyes off you. You were a star!!! We hung with you and your mom in Dallas waiting for our plane and just couldn't stop talking about how sweet you both were. You were so humble, so beautiful and so talented! You made an impact on so many and will always be forever in our memories and in our heart!!! We love you! I'll never forget the first time I saw you.  You were flying.  Just as you are now.  I couldn't take my eyes off you.  It was at PCM Showcase.  I think all eyes were on you.  Your magnetic smile was contagious and you stood out for sure.  Not because you were the youngest on an amazingly talented team, but because you were glowing.  Just like I imagine you to be now.  My father says (an Irish saying) "only the good die young"  and you my darling were good.

I've known Celeste since I was in the third grade. She and I were both first year Orangecrest cheerleaders and even though she was a little quiet, she was the sweetest girl I've ever met. She always tried to help me out with stunting and learning the cheers. She was so talented and I wish I could've had the chance to reconnect with her in highschool. She will always be missed<3

My family has been following Celeste's story on Facebook. We were cheering her on with every post. We were devastated to hear the sad news of her passing. We don't personally know the Alvarez family but the news of Celeste's illness, recovery journey & her passing made a huge impact in our community and myself. I have young children as well & my heart broke to hear of her passing, I can not imagine what her mother, father, siblings must be going through. I kept her in prayers for many nights, I will keep her family & friends in my prayers still.
