Charlie was born in Louisiana on December 30, 1947 of parents Paul and Jessie Gray. Later they lived in Alaska, Texas and in California where the family of 2 Boys and 3 Girls settled near March Air Force Base, where his father and Charlie were once both stationed as part of their service in the United States Air Force.
Charlie graduated from Moreno Valley High School where he lettered in Track and Field and Football and was always featured in the local news for his speed and agility. He entered the USAF out of high school and spent 24 years as a Transportation Logistics Specialist moving troops and equipment around the world just prior to his retirement while serving in England. It was only fitting that in his second career he became a truck driver for C.R. England and retired again in 2017. Joined by his wife Patricia Gray, he spent his final years traveling the world and living life to its fullest with friends and family always at the center of his life. He had a passion for Cooking, Outdoor Jazz Concerts and Dancing. Charlie will be remembered as a kind, generous, and easy-going person who loved all people especially his Mother, Children, Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
Charlie is survived by his Mother, Jessie Gray of Moreno Valley, Wife Patricia Gray of West Covina, his son Charles Gray Jr. and daughter Trisha McGee both of Las Vegas and his daughter Brooke Jordon Gray of England; as well as three sisters Vera “Jean” Briggs, Katherine Singh and Linda Dutton, Five (5) Grandchildren, Two (2) Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who Loved being around their Uncle Charlie.
It is hard to forget someone who gave us so many wonderful memories. Charlie will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him! Rest in the Father’s arms until we all see you again!
